How to call the Pixverse Edit API

Pixverse Edit runs through POST /v1/videos/generations. The request returns a job_id right away; poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id} until the job completes and read the output URLs from the result. Get an API key from the EmpirioLabs dashboard.

cURL: submit the job
curl https://api.empiriolabs.ai/v1/videos/generations \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $EMPIRIOLABS_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "pixverse-edit",
    "prompt": "Describe what you want Pixverse Edit to generate."
  }'
cURL: poll for the result
curl https://api.empiriolabs.ai/v1/jobs/JOB_ID \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $EMPIRIOLABS_API_KEY"
Python
import requests

response = requests.post(
    "https://api.empiriolabs.ai/v1/videos/generations",
    headers={"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_EMPIRIOLABS_API_KEY"},
    json={
        "model": "pixverse-edit",
        "prompt": "Describe what you want Pixverse Edit to generate.",
    },
)
job = response.json()

# Generation runs as an async job. Poll until it completes.
import time
while True:
    status = requests.get(
        f"https://api.empiriolabs.ai/v1/jobs/{job['job_id']}",
        headers={"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_EMPIRIOLABS_API_KEY"},
    ).json()
    if status.get("status") in ("completed", "failed"):
        print(status)
        break

Good to know

Six transformations that take an existing video and return a new one, selected with mode.

Modes

  • modify: edit the content of a clip from a text prompt, optionally guided by up to 3 reference images.
  • restyle: change the visual style while preserving motion and composition. Pass a restyle_prompt or a restyle_id.
  • swap: replace a subject in the clip with an uploaded image. The model detects the subjects in the chosen keyframe; use swap_target to name which one, otherwise the first detected subject is used.
  • mimic: transfer the motion of the source video onto a subject image.
  • upscale: raise the resolution of the clip.
  • sound_effect: generate a synchronized sound bed. Leave the prompt empty to have it derived from the video, and set original_sound_switch to keep the existing audio.

Output

  • modify, mimic and swap output 360p, 540p or 720p. restyle, upscale and sound_effect follow the source clip.

Billing

  • Billed per second of the source video at the rate for the mode and resolution. swap also includes a small one-off subject-detection charge, which is folded into the billed seconds for that request.

Input limits

  • Video: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 1920px on the long edge and 30 seconds. Up to 100MB for modify, mimic, swap and upscale, and 50MB for restyle and sound effects. Swap requires H.264 or H.265.
  • Images: PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 20MB and 10000px on the long edge.
